Friends i will ask the age old question again? Any news whatsoever on immigration related bills? In one thread it said that the President would be signing the bills by Feb 15 2007. Is that still on course coz the house seems to be moving at a good pace in terms of passing bills.

It depends upon immigration officer. Make sure you provide all the proofs that you will return to your home country.

Who gets the AP (Advance parole) document from USCIS , candidate or lawyer who filed it ?

My AP went to the lawyer.
My Receipt went to the lawyer too.
FP notice came to me, copy to lawyer.
EAD approved, expecting card it to come to me.

Sorry i keep on asking same questions again and again. I could not find any answer for that. What should I fill in "date of application" for priviously applied I-765, it should be date from EAD when they approved it or should it be the the date on which they received my application.
Also what should I fill in the
"Please provide information concerning your eligibility status"
Please suggest.
I put application date as when ever I signed the form and dated it. I think its no big deal, if you attach copy of previous EAD...

If I filed my case previously without an application for employment authorization or advance parole, how do I apply now for those benefits?
If you failed to apply for work card or a travel document at the time you filed your adjustment of status application, you need to wait until you received a receipt for the I-485 petition. You can then apply for work and travel benefits by providing a copy of the receipt along with the other forms and supporting documentation.
As far as I remember there was case with one of the IV member whose EAD/AP checks got cashed although he filed on July 2nd. He was the only case of its type and I remember someone from the core clarifying that Aman or pappu helped that guy file his 485 case but his EAD was filed separately. I'm not sure how they manage to do that.
You may want to PM pappu or logiclife for that.

I applied for EAD renewal at TSC on June 24 with a pending EB3 I485 pending at NSC. I still have not got an approval for EAD renewal!
Is anyone else in the same boat got their EAD approved?
Did I send my application to the wrong service center, I live in North Carolina?
I know several other people that got their EAD renewal application approved at TSC and these people applied about a month later than me!!!
Please advise :confused:

What I have heard from others having the same issue is that they would put your given name as the last name (as it is the index in their db) and put the "FNU" (First Name Unknown) under the first name. I know, this is ridiculous as you have a first name ! Hope they have something like a "LNU" as well
You meant to say NA for "not applicable" right? Others may not interpret Name followed by NA in the same way. This part of the world NA also stands for "North America" :)
This might cause issues in long run especially when you apply for GC or even extention of visa as the Name in the passport will not match the visa or even your records from school and university.

Has IV explored or conveyed DOS about considering the First Arrival date on H1B or the first day on H1B job after graduating to be the priority date ? If DOS can implement this without change in law ?
The Ideal Scenario would be First Arrival Date or Labor Filing Date which ever comes first should be the priority date after I 140 is approved. What do you think IV core?
If DOS implements this it will be a boon for long time GC hopefuls !

Ria,
This not correct. if you are on H visa in USA, you can definitely apply for Canadian Landed Immigration. In order to maintain your immigration in Canada, you have to stay atleast 2 years in Canada in a 5 year period.
Moreover, in order to fulfill your citizenship requirement, you have to be physically present in Canada for atleast 3 years.
I hope this helps.
